Career Development Group : Publishing

Introduction

Career Development Group Publishing aims to generate sufficient income to support the activities of the Career Development Group. It also aims to publish titles which debate issues and develop awareness while maintaining profitability.

Publications Catalogue

The Career Development Group's publishing programme includes many standard bibliographic aids such as Fiction Index, Sequels and Picture Book Index; introductory texts and works on topical issues such as equal opportunities; for example Equally Good, which raises the profile of women's achievements in the library and information profession.

The Group has also published A Chartership Reader, a compilation of articles that have appeared in the professional press on all aspects of the chartering process. It will be a useful tool for anybody preparing applications for chartered status.

Markets
Career Development Group publications have two separate markets: institutional, and personal purchasers. Each Division has a set of Career Development Group publications for display/sale at Divisional events, for which the Divisional Publications Promotions Officer is responsible.
