The mission of the Career Development Group is to:

  • support

the development needs of new and existing library and information workers and students.

Aims

The aims of the Career Development Group are:

  • to provide a range of practical lifelong learning opportunities for members
  • to ensure that the views, concerns and interests of members are effectively represented
  • to create and expand local development and networking opportunities
  • to provide support through the chartership process
  • to stimulate new ideas, debates and developments
  • to disseminate best practice
  • to initiate and promote positive change by focusing on issues and campaigns

Career Development Group Council is made up of the President, Vice President, Past President, eleven Honorary Officers, one voting representative from each Division, and four voting representatives from the Student Committee.

The Council Directory lists members of the Career Development Group Council, Associate Officers, divisional and student committee members, and other useful contacts. Copies of the Council Directory are distributed to every member of Council. Additional copies are available from the Honorary Secretary.
