Membership
The Career Development Group is one of the largest and liveliest Groups
of The Library Association, the professional organisation for staff
working in Library and Information Services. The Career Development
Group has a membership of over 5,000 working in a wide variety of libraries
and information services. Members are employed in all levels of responsibility,
from newly qualified professionals, to senior managers and Chief Officers.
Libraries and Information Services represented include: public, academic,
national, local government, industry & commerce, health & medical,
and consultancy. The Career Development Group also has a strong student
membership, and a substantial number of members overseas.
Impact
Sent free to all members, 4 times a year, Impact keeps
members up to date and in touch. It contains views and opinions on current
debates in articles and letters, on both national and local issues.
Members are interested in
information relating to a wide variety of products and services,
reflecting the diverse membership of the Career Development Group.
