Welcome to the Scottish Division…
We are an active and friendly committee made up of librarians
and information professionals from all sectors of information
work. The Division covers the whole of Scotland - a very
wide geographical area - but most of our meetings, courses and
events are held in the major cities where we have most members.
The committee
meets in central Glasgow or Edinburgh, roughly eight times a year.
We have
a strong commitment to supporting Chartership, ACLIP and Revalidation candidates through
courses which we run regularly (see
Courses & Events) in
Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh; and also individual support
from our Candidate Support Officers.
We also run local low-cost
courses in many areas of professional practice, fundraise for
the Group's international projects and organise visits
to a variety of organisations and workplaces (see
Courses & Events).
Our divisional newsletter, Focus, keeps members up to
date with what we are doing and how we can help them.
We are always keen to
hear from Career Development Group members who wish to find
out more or get involved. Student members are also welcomed.
