Career Development Group : About the Group

Who are We?

  • The Career Development Group is a Special Interest Group of CILIP, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

The Career Development Group has members from all sectors of the library and information profession.

All officers give their time to the group on a voluntary basis, and there are many opportunities to get involved at divisional and national level.

Divisional groups work to provide training and career development opportunities at a local level to members, for example running courses, holding committee meetings, producing newsletters and holding fund-raising and social events.

National Council works with divisions and with CILIP to provide national training opportunities such as the National Conference, and support international projects such as the current project.
